Making A Difference...
Being diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2010 and enduring the treatment was one of the toughest things I have ever been through both physically and emotionally. I recently attended a cancer fund raising event where the pink truck, filled with the messages from those who have survived and in memorial of those who have passed, was displayed. Prior to that day, I was unable to acknowledge that I was a cancer survivor. When I added my signature to the truck it was symbolic of the fight I had just won and my healing was complete. Thank You.

Last year, on March 13, I was rushed into the hospital. Four hours later, the doctor came to tell me I HAD CANCER. My life changed that day. The next 7 months was hell. I was so sick every time I had chemo . One day, I read a story about the pink firetruck and thought how nice . So I wrote to see if the truck could come to my survivor party in October. When that truck came around the corner and parked in my yard, it was the most amazing feeling I ever felt in my life. It took my breath away !! The men and women from the pink truck understand what I went though and how hard it was on my family, but also, how lucky I was to have beat cancer!! Each rose I was handed made me realize how lucky I really was . Everyday I get up, I pray someone else makes it today and becomes a survivor. Thank You ALL for the support you show us everyday!!!!!!!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in early May 2010 and was devastated. I had lived in a place where I was not happy. At the end of May I moved to Warwick and had a double mastectomy on July 2, 2010. If it had not been for the support of my neighbors and new friends here, I would not have made it through my surgery and chemo. I was also told by one of my friends about the Pink Heals truck and through my travels came across the truck and was able to sign it. I had told my neighbors about the truck ( some of whom are breast cancer survivors) and had hoped that the Pink Firetruck would be able to come to our apartment complex so that they would be able to sign it.
